An HP Slate Tablet prototype running Windows 7 has been shown in a YouTube video. The device is “lighter than an iPad“, has a front and rear-facing camera, dedicated hardware button for showing/hiding the keyboard (which looks pretty usable) and full gesture support.

The video shows that Windows 7 really isn’t that “finger friendly” with several goes needed to hit the rights area to close/open a new IE tab or hit the search box, and browser scrolling was not as smooth as you’d expect if this is a capacitive screen. No other hardware specs revealed but apparently there is a pen for input control so maybe its a resistive screen? We’ll keep an eye out for the promised follow video.
