RIM has announced today their anticipated tablet offering – the “Blackberry Playbook”. The 7″ widescreen tablet supports Flash 10.1, HTML 5 and 1080p video.

Specs include:

  • BlackBerry Tablet OS with support for symmetric multiprocessing
  • 1 GHz dual-core processor

  • Dual HD cameras (3 MP front facing, 5 MP rear facing), supports 1080p HD video recording
  • Video playback: 1080p HD Video, H.264, MPEG, DivX, WMV
  • Audio playback: MP3, AAC, WMA

  • Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR

Update: SlashGear reports that the tablets will have 16Gb to 32GB of storage and seamless integration with a BlackBerry phone, allowing you to pick up a task you left off on the other device.
