Archos have today released their 7″ Android 2.2 tablet – the Archos 70.
It has a 1GHz ARM Cortex A8 processor, 8GB of flash storage, an 800 x 480 capacitive multitouch screen, OpenGL ES 2.0 graphics accelerator, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth and a front-facing VGA camera all weighing just 11oz and measuring 0.43-inch thin.
A sticking point for some will be the lack of Android Market, however this is really just a convenience front end, Apps can still be loaded directly via the .apks file either from a micro-sd card of from the Apps own website. Additionally, there is a way to load the actual Adroind Market App on Archos devices directly – see Archos Fans for more information.
Availability in the UK is expected around the 12th to the 15th November. We’ll be trying one out as soon as we can.
