At the event announced last week Facebook has unveiled its Social Inbox that that pulls together email, IM and text messages. Facebook has rebuilt their entire messaging system from the ground up to bring a unified platform showing you all your messages from a the people you care about, combining SMS, IM and EMail to give you an ongoing single conversation with a friend across all platforms.
Users can have an @facebook.com address, although Mark Zuckerberg was keen to point out this “is not email”. The new messaging system will be rolled out to users over the next few months, and you can request an invite now.
