Putting an end to speculation on the opening date, Apple today announced that the Mac App Store will open Thursday 6th January. Apple plans to make the store available in 90 countries and it will feature free and paid apps, broken into Categories in a similar way that the iOS App Store is done, after all “if it ain’t broken…”
The Mac App Store will only be available to Mac OS X Snow Leopard users and will come as a free download through Apple Software Update.
