iOS 4.3 beta multitasking gestures shown in video

About a week ago it BGR reported that the iOS4.3 beta build released to developers had support for gestures built in. Using multiple fingers, you can swipe up to reveal the multi-tasking bar or swipe sideways to switch between running Apps. Swiping requires 4 fingers which is manageable on the iPad but difficult on the iPhone.

A subsequent update revealed that Gesture Support would *not* be coming in iOS4.3 final release, this was purely for internal testing purposes and for developers to test integrating its support into their Apps. one such developer has shot a video demo’ing what the gesture support is like on an iPhone, shown below.

Gesture Support ties in nicely with an accompanying rumour that the next generation of iPhone and iPad’s will not have a home button at all, requiring a gesture swipe to reach the home screen. While it’s well known that Steve Jobs’ detests buttons, the removal of the home button would be a significant shift in user experience and is at this point purely speculation.
