the daily logoFollowing up on the post from January 27th citing a February 2nd launch, News Corps iPad only newspaper “The Daily” has indeed launched today.

The Daily will cost $0.99 for a week’s subscription (~61p), and will be available in the iPad App Store from 5pm UK time – it is available in the UK but has mainly a US targeted content.

One immediate issue with The Daily is it’s delivery. In order to get each new daily issue, you need to start the App and download that days edition. With the capability of Push technology, why isn’t a copy ‘pushed’ out to the App when available so it’s just there when you switch on? This is probably a limitation on Apple’s part not News Corp’s though.
