Apple have today announced the iPad successor, the iPad2 at their media event in San Francisco, after confirming the iPad had sold 15 million units in 2010, more than all other tablet sales combined.

The new iPad2 has:

  • New A5 dual core chip
  • 2x faster CPU, 9x faster graphics
  • 33% thinner (13.4mm to 8.8mm)
  • Front and Rear facing cameras
  • Built in gyroscope
  • Available in white and black
  • Same 10 hour battery life
  • HDMI output upto 1080p with Mirrored video output.
  • New ‘magnetised cover’ as case/stand
  • Runs iOS4.3

The new iPad 2 will be available March 11th in the US and March 25th in 26 other countries including the U.K., France, Germany and Spain.
