comscore smartphone market share march 2011Mobile analytics firm comScore have released their numbers on the last quarters growth for smartphones which show that Google has increased market share by 6% while Apple has only managed 0.5%. The big loser is RIM that produces the Blackberry range, down 4.5% and oddly Microsoft who are down 0.9% possibly showing a drop off of sales after the big Windows Phone 7 launch.

This leaves Apple only 1.6% behind RIM, and likely to move into second place by the end of the next quarter. Google however continues to grow and gain market share with its ever increasing range of devices and manufacturers pushing out Android handsets.
