Tech journalist Jason Perlow of Tech Broiler was testing out the iPad2 protective case, the ‘G-Form Extreme Sleeve‘, and had been using it perfectly for about 2 weeks. Then he asked his wife to test it:
She said “You want me to throw it out on the concrete?” and I said “Why not”.
His wife threw the iPad2 wrapped snugly in its Extreme Sleeve out onto their patio, and it landed exactly where the weakest part of the case design in – on the corner – leading to a horrible cracking sound and the inevitable result.
The good news is that G-Form have taken this incident on board and are redesigning the case to contain a reinforced PORON XRD bumper insert to provide corner and side protection on the zipper area.
So, bear in mind, if you’re using protective cases for your phone, laptop or tablet, letting your partner test out exactly how good the protection is might not be a good idea!
