10 Most Common iPhone unlock codes revealed

If you’re using any of the codes below, it might be time to choose a new one as App Developer Daniel Amitay (of Big Brother Camera Security) added an anonymous tracker to the last update to see what passlocks were in use. The App passcode screen is identical to the iPhone lock screen, so he feels his data is a fairly accurate representation of what people actually use to secure their Phones.

Of 204,508 recorded passcodes, the top ten most common were:

These codes represent only 15% of the total number of combinations recorded, so security isn’t as bad as it could be, however these should definitely cause some people to put something more secure on their device.

5683 is the passcode with the least obvious pattern, but it turns out that it is the number representation of LOVE (5683), once again mimicking a very common internet password: “iloveyou.”

Daniel goes on to formulate occurrence graphs of years of birth, and provides ‘heatmaps’ for the digit combinations, you can read more detail on his blog post at amitay.us.
