dr miriam stoppard pregnancy app iconWhen I was pregnant with my daughter, I wanted to know everything–how my baby was growing, what I could expect, and what I should be worried or not worried about.  Every woman’s pregnancy is different, but it was nice to have a little reassurance that my “oven” was “baking” properly.

During that time, it would have been nice to have had access to an iPhone App such as the Dr. Miriam Stoppard Pregnancy App.  This application is way more in-depth and interactive than any “What to Expect When You’re Expecting” book.  Created by Dr. Miriam Stoppard, the United Kingdom’s “most trusted health and childcare expert,” you know that it will be a quality App.

When you first load up the app, you will be given the option to personalize it.  You set up the app with your due date and your baby’s name, and then the app will get you started at the appropriate week of your pregnancy.  Each week, Dr. Miriam Stoppard will present a video to tell you about what is going on in your baby’s development during that time–as well as what to expect from your own body.

Personally, I think the neatest thing about the Dr. Miriam Stoppard Pregnancy App is the ability to keep personal information, journals, and pictures throughout the 40-week process.  Under the “Me” tab in the App, you can write in a journal, take and store pictures of your baby bump over time, and keep track of personal information such as your blood type, doctor’s contact information, and details about your midwife.  This makes all the data easy to access for your hubby as well, in case of an emergency.

There is also a ton of great information included within the App for you to peruse at your own pace.  The “Knowledge” tab provides articles and information about topics such as how to nutritionally eat for two, what to expect during the birthing process, and even a breakdown of the changes you may experience in your sexual desires throughout pregnancy and after birth.

One really unique feature within the Dr. Miriam Stoppard Pregnancy App is the ability to record an audio sample and play it back with distortion to give you an idea of how your baby hears you through the womb.  This is a great way to experience what your baby is experiencing, and is just a neat little functionality within the App to try out.

This is a great, informative App for anyone going through a pregnancy.  For the money, I believe it is reasonably priced for the amount of accessible information it contains, as well as the explanation of the changes occurring in you and your baby in both videos and images.  And my favourite part is the ability to keep a journal and pictures of your pregnancy all in one place.   That’s just pretty cool in my book!
