Orange has launched the UK’s first iPad 2 and iPhone ‘Connected’ plan, allowing you to buy both devices for a single price, on a single monthly contract plan. Available now, customers can order a 3G iPad 2 and iPhone for only £65 per month for 24 months and £99 upfront cost – depending on the exact models chosen. The new connected plan comes with a 2GB data allowance and unlimited BT Openzone Wi-Fi (subject to fair usage), which can be shared across both devices, as well as 600 minutes and unlimited text for iPhone use.
This is a pretty good price combination for two premium devices, and the shared data plan is a nice way to reduce monthly costs as typically you will only be on one device at a time.
Unfortunately, if like me you are on two separate existing tariffs, there is no way to migrate onto this new plan. You can however migrate when one of the devices is up for renewal, at which point you can renew and have that device folded into the new contract with the second one.
