Netmarketshare reports that the iPad has passed the 1% mark for web browsing devices on the internet. With accelerated growth this year, the figure has increased from 0.67% in January 2011 to 1.03% by June 2011.
According to the same site, the iOS platform now has 2.63% total OS market share, considerably higher than Android at 0.72%.
Netmarketshare says it collects its data from the browsers of site visitors to its exclusive on-demand network of live stats customers and data is compiled from approximately 160 million visitors per month.
