9to5mac.com has ‘independently heard’ that Apple plans to begin selling the next-generation iPhone on Friday, October 7th – the same date first reported by TiPB – and also that pre-orders will begin September 29th or 30th – most probably the 30th.
Pre-orders on September 30th point back to an announcement mid September, and although the 7th September announcement was debunked, that leaves plenty of remaining days for mid-September announcement to still be on the cards. And we’re back full circle to The China Times date! Still no update on the various leaked iPhone5 images, but if the iPhone5 was reportedly with carriers for testing two weeks ago, the design is locked down and all Apple has to do is make sure it can meet demand.
