The Google Mobile Blog details an update just made to the search experience on tablets.
The search results page for tablets has been simplified, removing a lot of the additional desktop information, and the size of page content like text, buttons and other ‘touch targets’ has been increased to make it easier and faster to read and navigate.
There is also a new ‘search type’ button located below the search box to quickly adjust the types of results you are viewing like Images, Videos, Places, Shopping and more.
When searching for images there are improvements that enhance the viewing experience such as enlarged image previews, continuous scroll, and faster loading of image thumbnails.
The new search experience is being released in the next few days for iPad and Android 3.1+ tablets.
