The budget Android handset from Samsung – the Galaxy Europa – is available online and in store today from Three at the bargain price of £49.99 on PAYG.

samsung galaxy europaThe handset is running Android 2.1 but as the costs suggests there are some compromises with the 600Mhz processor and 2MP rear-facing camera. It does at least have a capacitive screen, although the 240 x 320px resolution feels cramped, and on-board GPS, Bluetooth and WiFi.

The phone is fairly light and there is some flex when holding it, as you would expect from a plastic chassis, but for the price this is a decent phone for the kids or someone just starting out with Android handsets.
