Twitter has announced that they are launching User Photo Galleries linked to users profiles. The new feature will display the last 100 images a user has posted going back as far as January 1st 2010 and the new gallery will pick up images posted via the variety of third party sites. Images can be viewed in a Grid View or a Detail View (example below) which includes the content of the Tweet that posted it. If you don’t want a previous image appearing in your User Gallery you need to go back to the original Tweet and delete it.
The move follows the recent update Twitter made allowing images to be uploaded via the Twitter service itself, rather than using a third party site like twitpic.com – images uploaded this way are also embedded directly within the tweet rather than as a URL you have to follow. Images sent as Tweets via the new iOS5 Twitter integration are also displayed as such:
