We were expecting the Kindle colour tablet – Kindle Fire, but we got a whole new range of them!
At the Amazon event just now Jeff Bezos announced the new range of Kindle devices they were bringing to market.
Kindle
New slimmed down version of the current Kindle. E-Ink display, no touchscreen, no keyboard. 30% lighter than current Kindle, less than 6 ounces. $79 – Available today (in the US)
Kindle Touch
New touchscreen Kindle, slightly bigger, infrared multi-touch capability, still on the E-Ink display. WiFi only. Text-to-speech, plus audio books and mp3s. $99 – Available November 21st (in the US)
Kindle Touch 3G
Same as the Kindle Touch but with universal free 3G coverage. $149 – Available November 21st (in the US)
