Amazon is getting ready to launch ‘collection lockers’ at their first locations, a series of shopping centres in London owned by Land Securities. In a similar move to that already underway at 7-Eleven convenience stores in the US, items purchased via Amazon will have an additional option to be shipped to a secure storage locker at a location near you. A unique code in your order confirmation email can be used at the storage locker computer, which when entered will auto-magically open the correct locker or drawer for your item.
If successful this trial could lead to a more convenient order and collection solution for office workers who purchase items bigger than a standard letterbox.
