Announced at the IFA in Berlin Dell showed off their new ultra-mobile laptop the Inspiron 14z. Bringing the ultra-mobile “z” distinction to Inspiron the 14z combines great performance with stunning light (4.4lbs) and thin (1.04 to 1.15 inches) chassis.

The full specs are below, but the standout features we’re keen on are the integrated Core i3 or i5 processor, 1366 x 768 14″ display, up to 8GB RAM and upto 750GB hard drive! Also, unlike just about every other ultra portable notebook I can think of, there is an included DVD drive on the 14z. If you upgrade to the optional nine-cell battery you are looking at a quoted 11 hours and 2 minutes (!) run time, which exceeds even iPad battery life and gives you the confidence to be out all day with just the 14z leaving the charging lead at home.
