Google have announced there will soon be a Reader Update with a revamped look and closer Google+ integration. With the introduction of Google+ integration, some of the social aspects of Google Reader that are natively supported such as friending and sharing will be retired out to make way for using them via Google+
If you’re a heavy Google Reader user, and aren’t yet signed up to Google+ get on and do that right away in order to continue to use these types of features. You can sign up for Google+ here.
