The Motorola RAZR, announced yesterday, will be receiving the just announced Android 4 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) update early next year according to Motorola’s senior vice president of portfolio and product management Alain Mutricy.
Mutricy explained that the phone was designed to run Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), which will be installed when it hits the market, but that Motorola has already created a time frame for an Android 4.0 roll-out.
The ‘new’ RAZR is an Android 2.3.5 handset, with a 4.3″ Super AMOLED display with Corning®Gorilla® Glass and all over splash-guard coating. Inside there is a dual-core 1.2 GHz processor and 1GB of RAM, but the real feature of the phone is its incredible thinness, measuring just 7.1 millimeters if you ignore the camera (which will probably prevent ‘world’s thinnest smartphone’ claims!) which is an 8MP shooter with 1080p HD video recording.
