The Kindle Fire, launched in the US in September, has been anticipated in the UK for some time, after the immediate launch of the new smaller Kindle there was still no word on the Fire.
Know Your Mobile is reporting that the 7-inch Android tablet will be arriving in the UK sometime in January 2012 “a source close to the launch has informed” them.
Although targeting a different audience from the iPad, the Kindle Fire could make a huge impact on the tablet market here in the UK, as it has done in the US, by introducing the first affordable – quality – tablet to people. With its much simpler interface, wide range of media from books to music to videos and limited curated Apps, it should prove a much simpler buying decision than the iPad, particularly for those put off by the iPads price tag.
