Samsung now have a white version of the popular Galaxy Note tablet/phone available. In an unusual move the device is initially exclusively available at the Oxford Street branch of John Lewis, for the same £400 price tag as its original black counterpart. Additionally the first hundred to be sold will come with £250 worth of music, films and eBooks.
The Galaxy Note is struggling to find its place in the Android world, stuck in cross-over land between a large handset and a small tablet, but many find its 5.3” display running at 1280×800 a great combination, particularly as data usage increases whilst voice usage drops.
The Galaxy Note ships with Android 2.3 but Samsung have promised an Android 4.0 (ICS) upgrade during the first quarter of this year.
