Pebble: E-Paper Watch for iPhone and Android Crosses $2 Million In Pledge Funding

Just a quick update to my Pebble on Kickstarter project I talked about earlier. The initial project goal of $100’000 was blown past pretty quickly, and I pledged my commitment to purchase at around the $500’000 mark early Thursday morning. This evening the figure has kept on going leaving the $2 million mark in its wake!

This is an amazing response, and is number 2 on the all time Kickstarter funding amounts, closing in on the highest value of $3,336,371.00. When crossing the $1 million mark the Pebble team sent out an update confirming that due to the additional funds, responding to the most requested feature, Pebble would now be completely waterproof (as opposed to the original splashproof) although the exact details (i.e. depth resistance) were still to be confirmed.

With 35 days still to go, there’s no telling where the total pledge amount for this project could finish, and my only hope is they can bring forward the expected availability date of September! Congratulations guys!
