There is a much rumoured Microsoft Event happening today, with speculation that it will be the unveiling of a tablet of some sort.
TechCrunch, quoting sources “with knowledge of the situation” claim it will actually be tablet/e-reader built in conjunction with Barnes & Noble and that it will be entertainment driven.
Invites for the event were released Thursday, short notice for a Monday event., and without an indication of what sort of event it was.
It seems too early for any sort of demo of a Windows RT tablet (Windows8 on Arm) which isn’t expected to debut until sometime in October, so TechCrunchs assertion that it will be the product of the strategic partnership between Microsoft and Barnes & Noble could have legs.
