Sky Updates Mobile Apps and Anytime+ Services

Sky has announced several updates to its mobile App Sky Go and its Anytime+ service.

Following on from the January announcement, the content on the Anytime section of the Sky Go App is increasing, starting with a range of children’s shows including Ben10 and Dora the Explorer. From next month the App will also include live children’s channels in its line-up, increasing the number of live channels available to stream to 32.

The Sky+ App is also going to be updated allowing it to serve as a remote control for your Sky box, allowing you to control the Sky box in the same way as via your remote control, and also view recorded shows in your planner and delete them if unwanted without interrupting the show you’re currently watching.

Lastly Sky is adding Channel 5 to BBC’s iPlayer and ITV Player for terrestrial on demand offerings to be available “this year”.

Sky Go is free for current Sky subscribers, and can also be used as a standalone service with its own subscription.
