tep logoMobile Data company TEP is offering a new service providing mobile data across Europe covering 39 countries for as little as £4.50 per day.

Mobile Data charges have been a hot topic recently, with various cheaper roaming alternatives announced by the UK networks, but all still work out quite expensive if you want anything more than about 50MB worth of roaming data.

TEP are offering the use of a pocket WiFi device (a MiFi) to give you 1GB of roaming data for as little as £4.50 per day, depending on how long you hire the mobile hotspot for.

Once ordered, your TEP device (they offer a dedicated smartphone instead of the MiFi but I can’t see who would want that?) you can either collect it at an airport, or have it shipped to your home before you leave, or your destination once you arrive.

The service includes a pre-paid envelope for you to send it back in once complete.

A 7 day trip in July will cost £47 at £5.88/day. This is still a lot but for the amount of data and the MiFi device for the duration its pretty good. Share that cost with someone and you’re only looking at £24 for the week.

If 1GB of data isn’t enough, then you can increase to 2.4GB for an additional £35, and there is even an “unlimited” plan, although no costs for that!
