Sky Updated Sky+ iPad App Now Live

Sky announced back in July that they would be bringing several new features to their mobile Apps and Sky Anytime+ service, and the updated Sky+ App is now live in the App Store and ready to download.

The updated App lets you now use your iPad as a remote control to your Sky+ HD box, and also view and manage your Sky+ Planner – your list of recorded shows. The update also brings a new TV Guide and improved Search facilities.

You can see a demonstration of these new features in the video below:

To use the enhanced iPad features you will need a Sky+HD compatible box, the new Sky Guide and have your iPad and Sky+HD box connected to the same broadband network.

Sky have also confirmed that via their partnership with Zeebox that further updates will make the iPad a companion device to the Sky+ HD box allowing ‘augmented’ TV viewing features, such as connecting with friends around TV shows, finding more information about what’s on TV, and buying products relating to your favourite programmes.

The Zeebox technology will also make it makes it easy for you to tweet about shows or follow Facebook comment streams with your friends while you’re watching TV.
