Fitbit has today unveiled the first digital health and fitness trackers to offer Bluetooth Smart compatibility, the Fitbit Zip wireless activity tracker and the Fitbit One wireless activity and sleep tracker.
The Bluetooth integration means the Fitbit devices can sync wirelessly with “Bluetooth Smart Ready devices” such as the iPhone 4S with the Fitbit dashboard software for iOS.
The Fitbit One is a wireless activity and Sleep Tracker which tracks your steps, distance, calories burned, and stairs climbed. Come nightfall, it measures your sleep cycle to help you see how to sleep better; and it can even wake you in the morning without waking your other half.
The Fitbit Zip is purely an activity tracker and tracks your steps, distance, and calories burned — then automatically syncs the data to your Fitbit account.
Gareth Jones, VP and European General Manager for Fitbit said:
Fitbit is dedicated to helping people achieve health and fitness goals with physical and online products that are well designed and simple to use and our new trackers and features are testament to this.
The Fitbit Zip and Fitbit One will be available toward the end of October.
