Asda have today confirmed they are stocking the new Barnes & Noble Nook tablet, and it will be going head-to-head with the Kobo on their shelves for Christmas E-readers.
Asda is selling the Nook Simple Touch e-reader for £79, as well as its ‘Glowlight’ edition for £109. The Nook Simple Touch with Glowlight, is an upgraded device which features LED lights enabling the device to be read in the dark.
Both models are ultra-light, weighing less than most paperbacks. The super long-life battery provides up to 30 hours of continuous reading and can be charged from a computer or mains supply. Nooks also boast a crisp 6 inch E Ink® touchscreen with no glare, even in bright sunlight.
Andrew Thompson, Asda’s technology expert said:
ebooks have really taken off in the UK over the last year with them now outselling printed editions; we think this award winning yet affordable device will be popular with our customers.
The Nook is now available in larger Asda stores and online at www.direct.asda.com.
