Every now and again we move away from the very latest tech, and try and remember that for many a phone is just a phone.

Its only purpose is to stay in touch with friends and family – making calls, and maybe texts.

And thats all it needs to do. While its performing it’s simple tasks it better not be big and heavy, but if it could look nice at the same time that would be a bonus. So we took a look at this, very un-PR named “N666” Quad Band handset from everbuying.com.

Its far removed from modern black slab smartphones, but then thats the point. It’s basic to the extreme, but for the girl (or guy – there is a blue version!) who harkens back to simpler times it does the job and makes for a far more attractive device for your handbag.

Specs reflect the nature of the phone, but there’s a few surprises like Bluetooth included:

  • Quad Band Cell Phone
  • 1.5 inch screen
  • Network frequency: GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz
  • Dual SIM, Dual standby
  • Single cameras Back 0.1 MP
  • MP3/Bluetooth Function Supported

There is a rear facing camera, but its extremely basic at 0.1MP, and the custom OS includes Sound Recorder, Bluetooth, Calculator, MP3, People, Calendar, Alarm.

Most importantly though, the price! The phone is less than a trip to the cinema for 2 at only £23 and shipping is free worldwide. At that price it can be your funky weekend phone when you don’t want to be bogged down with emails and boring work stuff.

They have plenty of other more traditional Android based phones too, including 5″ phablets for under £50…
