Garmin Enter The Personal Fitness Arena Tracking With Vivofit

Wearable tech is all the rage now, and 2014 looks to see that explode as personal fitness trackers and smartwatches vie for space on your wrist.

Getting in on the personal fitness market, Garmin today announced their wristband the Vivofit, designed to learns about your activity levels and then sets you personalised goals in order to get fitter.The Vivofit is a traditional ‘bracelet’ style device with a waterproof rubberised finish, and comes in a variety of colours.

Unlike many others, it has a decent looking display allowing you see the time, and your progress toward your current goal. Battery life is quoted at one year, meaning you won’t have to take it off for charging, and is user-replaceable.

The tracker measures everything from the number of steps you have taken and the distance you have covered to the calories you have burned and how you are progressing towards your daily goal.

With the touch of a button, you can wirelessly sync vívofit with Garmin Connect – Garmin’s online community – to see a complete picture of your progress, including weight loss, which you can either keep private or share with others. Vívofit can also be used with a heart monitor, providing invaluable information whether you are a serious athlete or concerned about your overall level of fitness.
