A few weeks ago we told you about the Napwell, a mask that helps you nap and now we’re back to talk about the Power Pillow. It’s not another sleep aid, and while you can take a power nap on it, it has a pretty unique feature that sets it apart from your typical pillow.
As its name implies, the Power Pillow is all about power – charging power that is. That’s right, the Power Pillow is a charging pillow that allows you to charge your favorite devices up while you’re lounging about. It’s a win-win situation.
The Power Pillow looks like an ordinary pillow, but inside lies a 12000mAh lithium-polymer battery pack that lets you get your charge on. It also has two USB ports so you can charge more than one device. Worried about having to charge the pillow with a cord? Worry no more as each Power Pillow comes with a slim 120000mAh battery that is easily removed. You can also buy a “Deluxe” package that comes with two batteries, so you’ll always have a hot one on hand.
The batteries are slim coming in at .57-inches thin and weighing only 9.8 ounces each, so they aren’t going to be bulky in your pillow. As for the pillow itself, it comes in seven different designs along with a Power Pillow Elite custom option. No need to worry about resting your head on a charging station either as the battery and accessory pockets in the Power Pillow are made with a conductive fabric called EX-Static which gives you EMF shielding and dissipates static.
The Power Pillow hasn’t been live on Kickstarter for long, and so far they’ve managed to raise $10,597 of their $30,000(CAD) goal with 29 days to go. There are plenty of pledge levels to choose from, and you can pick up a Power Pillow for as low as $79(CAD). There are several extra/accessory levels as well to go along with a couple of stretch goals.
If successfully funded, the first Power Pillows are expected to hit the streets in April which is great to see considering a lot of Kickstarter projects have a much longer span between funding and production. If you like to lounge about with a phone or tablet in your hands, the Power Pillow is definitely a gadget you’ll want to check out.
