Here & Now, a geo-driven app that allows parents and careers to find, plan and book fresh, unexpected and fun children and family activities whilst on the go, launches today with plans to become the leading content platform within the family activity space.
The London based start-up has just received angel funding from Patsy Seddon, the entrepreneur and founder of Phase Eight, the female clothing chain, which it will invest into product development as Here & Now brings its app to market and plans future routes to market development.
Founded by experienced serial entrepreneurs Tara Benson and Antonia Jamison, Here & Now has been piloted in London, attracting a pipeline of strategic partners that have added depth and breadth of content. Here & Now launches with over 6.000 UK-wide listings available, including major UK attractions such as Vue cinemas, on board since the outset, to supply UK-wide children’s film listings, and smaller initiatives such as children’s theatre specialist Curious Mum. Further brands and service providers are joining the service each day, attracted by the unique opportunity to reach their target market via mobile and at a point of need.
Here & Now plans to become the leading content platform within the family activity space by tapping into parents and carers who quickly need to occupy their kids during the school holidays and when the 3.30pm bell send them running out of the school gates. Founder and CEO Tara Benson explains; “Parents simply do not have time to meticulously plan days out with kids and often are looking to fill a few hours with activities close to them. Instead of browsing the web, they need a spontaneous solution that means they can have fun with their kids rather than worrying about where to go and how long it will take to get there, and that’s why Here & Now works. We’re unlocking this really valuable content and making it available for parents and carers, letting them to save time and money”.

I’m a firm believer that Here & Now will be incredibly useful not just to parents, but grandparents too. I’ve identified myself with Tara and Antonia, we share similar traits, and they have impressed me with their energy and dedication in bringing Here & Now successfully to market.
