The latest offerings from Samsung and Sony are steadily eroding more and more of Apple’s grip at the top of the smartphone market. Of course, this is good news for customers – more choice can never be a bad thing in making sure you get the most competitive deal and the best level of customer service.
It is also good for the wider Android community. When it came to games and apps for smartphones, there was a time when developers thought of iOS, then went and had a coffee, took the dog for a walk, gave the car a service and then, possibly, thought of Android.
Today, there is little to tell between the platforms, and Android users no longer have to wait patiently to claim the crumbs from the table. Here, we take a look at five of the coolest games you can download for your Android device right now.
1) Gonzo’s Quest – download or play at online casino
We mentioned recently how online casinos have skyrocketed in popularity over recent months. Most of these have mobile apps, and these in turn have a whole host of slot games to choose from. Games like this come and go, but Gonzo’s Quest has stood the test of time since its 2011 release, thanks to its unique playing style and Avalanche bonus feature. You can download the game from the Play Store, but most people choose to simply play Gonzo’s Quest at an online casino, and take advantage of the introductory offers and bonus spins that are available for new players.
2) Minecraft
Minecraft has become something of a phenomenon around the world with players of all ages and across all platforms. It is a shoe in on our list here, however, because unlike some games, the Android version does not feel watered down or like a kind of “Minecraft Lite.” You can do everything on your Android device that you can on a PC, and the frequent updates will ensure your game is always running with the very latest features.
3) Pokemon Go
When Pokemon Go arrived on the scene last year it rapidly established itself as one of the top Android games ever. Not satisfied with that, its creators believe the franchise could go on for 20 years. Sounds ambitious for something that has only been on the shelves for 15 months, but given that the original Pokemon game came out in the late 1990s, anything’s possible.
4) Riptide GP Renegade
Everyone likes a good racing game, and on Android, you should look no further than the Riptide GP series. We’ve chosen Renegade for our Top Five, in which you try to battle your way back from the bottom after being caught in an illegal street race. The controls are intuitive, the graphics are excellent and there are some fun extras. What more could you want?
5) Rollercoaster Tycoon
The game that spawned a genre, Rollercoaster Tycoon was around before Farmville and all the other simulation games. Unlike most of the others, however, you do not have to keep making in-app purchases to get anywhere. If you’ve never tried it, now is the time to find out.
To Wrap-up:
There are literally millions of android games, these are just five of our favourites. If you have other cool games let us know in the comments below.
