The latest Samsung Galaxy Phone, the S9 is being released on the 16th March 2018 and it’s no surprise that this model is set to be better than ever. The release details of the Galaxy S9 was announced in Barcelona at the Mobile World Congress on 25th February and it is actually available for pre order from 1st March. If you are purchasing this device outright, it will cost you £739.00.
You probably want to know the features of this phone and what it can offer you that the S8 didn’t, so let’s get into it. Let’s talk about the appearance first of all, the Galaxy S9 is sleeker than ever with a 5.9″ screen, and the S9+ which has a 6.2″ screen.
Both have thinner sides than ever before. Three colours are available in the UK on launch date, although four are actually being released in total. The choice of purple, black or blue has something appealing for everyone. The infinity display takes things to a brand new level, with a screen resolution of 1440 x 1960 and 529 pixels per inch (529ppi on the S9+).
The S9 is IP68 water resistant up to 1.5 meters from up to 30 minutes.
- Octa-core Samsung Exynos 9810 2.0Ghz processor
- 4GB RAM (6GB in the S9+)
- 64GB Internal Memory (expandable to 400GB via MicroSD)
- S9 – 147.7 mm H x 68.7 mm W x 8.5 mm D and weighs 163.0 g
- S9+ – 158.1 mm H x 73.8 mm W x 8.5 mm D and weighs 189.0 g
The camera has been reinvented and is more functional than ever before. The ‘dual aperture’ feature helps you make the lens on the camera bigger or smaller, which gives more precision when taking photos. You should remember that the larger you make the lens, the more light is going to be let in which means brighter and more clear pictures. Another camera feature that is new with this model is the super slow motion effect.
You can now record at 960 frames a minute, which is pretty amazing and slow enough to catch a bird flapping its wings! If you use your phone primarily for taking high quality photos and videos, these latest features are definitely appealing.
If you love to play around with emojis, you are going to love the AR Emoji feature on this latest Samsung Galaxy phone. This feature is similar to Bitmoji and makes a virtual reality style avatar of the user by using the front camera, even copying the facial expressions to make it as realistic as possible. A lot of the new features actually make the Galaxy S9 much more interactive than previous versions. If you want a phone that is MORE than just a phone, you don’t get much better than this.
Providing you are connected to the internet, the Galaxy S9 will be able to translate anything in an instant using the camera. This includes menus, photos and even street signs. This makes being in a different country where you don’t speak the language, a whole lot easier!
This latest model has an impressive battery life of 84 hours. In general, it is faster and more efficient than the S8. Some very subtle design tweaks have been put into place to make it look more attractive than ever. If you want the latest and greatest in Samsung technology and you can afford it, this product is definitely a great buy.
>> The Galaxy S9 will be available on all major UK networks including EE, Vodafone, Three and Carphone Warehouse.
