Whether it’s casino based games that get your seal of approval or whether it’s fast-paced multiplayer games that have browser-based capabilities, one thing is for sure, the gaming industry will only continue to grow and strengthen in the years to come.
Today we didn’t want to just look at any type of games, we wanted to look at browser-based games. These are games specifically designed for playing inside your website browser, whether it be Safari or Chrome, or anything in between. These are games that require a plugin to work and aren’t standalone, yet despite many restrictions some of these games are addictive and rival some of the best console versions.
Quake Live
One of the first browser-based games I enjoyed was Quake Live. As a big fan of the 1999 PC version of Quake 3 Arena, which took multiplayer gaming to a whole new level in an era where modems where being thrown aside thanks to emerging ISDN and ADSL lines, it was only natural to be seduced by the launch of an upgraded, updated version of the popular shooter. Sadly, Quake Live moved from browser to re-launching as a standalone game on Steam. However, there are some fantastic browser-based games out there to choose from.
Slither IO
Of course, you can’t have a browser-based game article without the mention of the 2016 launch of Slither.io, which is available in web-browsers as well as app stores. This simple yet addictive multiplayer game (much like the original Nokia Snake game) has had millions across the World looking to beat the 91k highest score achieved by getting their ‘worm’ to grow to the longest size by devouring pellets across the map.
Monopoly
An absolute classic and available in many themes, styles and sizes. This game has been recreated time and time again, but the family fun board game has also adapted into browser-based versions over the year and has become very popular at casino sites across the world. The idea in the original board game is to try and occupy sets of property on the board and then build houses and hotels, which other players have to pay rent or mortgage on if they happen to land on them. Just like the board game, most online versions are also built on the same idea that property makes them money, and the more they can collect with a set amount of dice rolls, the more they have a chance of winning. It’s an out and out fun game, whether you are playing with monopoly money or fancy a flutter with real money.
Lucky Pirates
We’ve had first-person shooters, multiplayer, single player board games, but you can’t forget slot machine games. One of the newest to hit web browsers and Bitcoin casino giants more recently is the Lucky Pirates slot game where you hit the high seas in search of treasure. Players will look for treasure bags on the reels with them acting as Money Symbols. If eight or more land on the reels then the re-spin bonus is triggered.
Dig deep with your crew and bring out your inner Pirate to try and win the Grand Jackpot of 1,000x your bet.
There you have it, a round-up of 4 very different games that shows you the capabilities of browser supported plugins that will allow you to play slots, roll dice as you go around a board, battle for highest scores, and experience fast-paced multiplayer games against anyone in the World.
