Earlier this year, mobile video game giant Zynga revealed they had witnessed a 52% increase in revenue compared to their last quarter as people in lockdown continue to spend more money on entertainment. And with more games than ever expected to arrive on mobile this year, Money.co.uk decided to investigate which are 2021’s Most Anticipated Mobile Games by analysing worldwide average monthly Google search volume data.

In first place is Riot Games’ 5v5 MOBA strategy game League of Legends: Wild Rift. LoL:WR launches in North America this month to eagerly awaiting fans, with many speculating which champions will feature in the launch – perhaps fan classics such as Jinx, Teemo, and Yasuo. There are 455,000 monthly average searches worldwide for League of Legends: Wild Rift.
Money.co.uk found that the second most anticipated game is Plants vs Zombies 3, with 167,700 monthly average searches, which promises to bring back classic playable characters along with brand new ones.
In third place is My Time at Portia, described as a delightful farming simulation and already available on other platforms, at 128,000 monthly average searches.
In fourth place is Pokémon Sleep (126,800). The unusual sleep monitoring mobile game that was revealed at the 2019 Pokémon Press Conference which promised to turn sleep into entertainment. Its been a long delay but people are still clamouring for it.
And in fifth place Pokémon Unite (99,600). Considering 2021 marks the 25th anniversary since the first Pokémon game, it is no surprise that these games are highly anticipated in 2021’s most anticipated mobile games by fans.
