Skullcandy is shaking up the gaming audio world with the launch of the Skullcandy Crusher PLYR 720 — the first gaming headset to combine its signature Crusher multi-sensory bass with an open-back design, delivering what the company calls a “4D” gaming experience.
Designed for immersive realism, the Crusher PLYR 720 blends THX® Spatial Audio, advanced positional tuning, and Skullcandy’s signature Crusher bass drivers to give players a visceral edge. The headset creates a wide, open soundstage — with bass you don’t just hear, but feel.
Feel the Game, Not Just Hear It
Unlike typical haptic headsets that vibrate around your ears, the PLYR 720 fires low frequencies directly into your ears and skull, creating a more natural, subwoofer-like sensation. This immersive design allows gamers to feel explosions, detect creeping enemies, and experience every moment with startling realism.
The open-back acoustics add to the immersion, creating spatial awareness that enhances everything from intense firefights to ambient storytelling. Paired with THX Spatial Audio, the PLYR 720 helps players pinpoint threats and navigate virtual environments with greater accuracy.
“THX Spatial Audio brings precision and pinpoint accuracy to gameplay,”
said Mike Henein, Director of Product Development at THX Ltd.
“It’s about more than survival — it’s about staying mentally sharp and elevating emotional realism.”
App-Powered Audio Control
Through the Skull-HQ desktop and Skullcandy Mobile App, users can unlock deep audio customization — including EQ tuning, RGB lighting, THX Spatial Audio with head tracking, and Enhanced Sound Perception™, a feature that personalizes audio output based on the user’s hearing profile.
For cross-platform players, the headset supports dual wireless audio streaming (game + chat/music), Clear Voice Smart Mic, and Chatmix Control — all designed for seamless in-game communication.
